Iris van den Akker
This fishbowl was the first thing I drew at my residency at Almost Perfect in Tokyo. It was my first time in Japan, and I wanted to inspire myself by walking around and getting to know the city. The ceramic fishbowls are all over Taito-ku, creating little gardens at peoples doorsteps. The Kingyo (goldfish) was based on a lantern I saw waving in the wind in Asakusa.
